The application lies within Audio Video Tools, more precisely Music Production. Unisyn gives you all the features youd expect in a leading editorlibrarian. Modify a sound in Unisyn using graphic envelope controls and faders, while getting instant feedback within the context of your music as Performer plays the sequence. Its not an ideal solution, as I really dont want to work in Windows, but there arent too many other options at this point. Does anybody know of a good OS X editor that can used to program a TX81Z I used to use SoundDiver in my old G5 under Classic (and my G3 G4 before that), but I now have an Intel-based Mac Pro which will not support Classic applications. So Ive got a few dedicated editors for various synths that work very well on my Mac Pro ( Microwave, FS1R, DSP7000 ). It is extremely buggy and is not well supported on the Mac platform (it also wiped out a bunch of presets on my K2000 just requesting a bank). BTW - I tried JSynthLib, but its not UB and wont run on the Mac Pro. Ive had a Tx816 w all eight modules sitting around as a doorstop but have planned to try this at some point. I havent spoken with anyone whos actually used it and am a little hesitant to drop cash on a product that may or may not work well. EDIT: I own Emagics SoundDiver, which (Id forgotten) is a cross-platform disc. I could install BootCamp (havent had a reason to try it out yet), then SoundDiver. I assume that I need to configure something similar to CoreMIDI OMS before I begin -T. With BootCamp, you boot natively into Windows XP, as opposed to Parallels, which allows you to open Windows XP within the Mac OS. But at least it looks like both MIDI and audio do run run under BootCamp. Motu Unisyn 2.11 Driver Support ForAccording to a Sound on Sound article about the use of BootCamp in a studio environment: Mac users can dabble with Windows applications as if they were running a normal Windows computer, with full driver support for plugging in USB and Firewire audio and MIDI devices. Thats the only thing that Windows really truly excels at, so you might as well take advantage of it. But since Im going to install XP via BootCamp on my MacBook Pro, maybe I will try out a game or 2 heh. Pick which MIDI ports you want to work with from inside the editor program. Wow, no OMS or CoreMIDI-ish configuration on Windows How do applications know where each MIDI devices is connected and what exact device it is. I guess that means that a separate MIDI configuration neeeds to be set up for EACH application used Ive got 2 Unitors with all MIDI IO allocated for (so 16 MIDI devices in total). Id hate to have to set up name that every time I used a different application.
